How did the Brand Photographer’s Blueprint course come to be?
Hi there, I’m Kassady! This blog is a little different than what you usually see here on the Brand Photographer’s Blueprint website. But this is important information that I want to share.
Today I want to chat with you about the course and share my heart behind its creation. You see, this isn’t something I just threw together so I could sell something online.
I’m a photographer first, that’s what I love to do. Being an educator wasn’t on my radar until I realized I had something invaluable to share. The techniques I developed for my brand photography business could help other struggling photographers. I wanted to see them succeed the same way I had.
So let’s dive in and see if my thought process and the Brand Photographer’s Blueprint course can be helpful for you!
I Was Tired of Seeing Photographers Give Up
Most photographers go into business trying to make a living out of their passion for taking pretty pictures. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done. Knowing how to take amazing images isn’t the only thing you need to know to build a successful photography business.
I’ve seen so many photographers give up because they aren’t making enough money. And I won’t lie, it’s tough. There’s a lot of competition out there and if you don’t have good marketing skills and a head for business, you won’t last long.
It’s even tougher to make money taking pictures of the things you love if you’re not into weddings. You see, most photographers think that’s where the money is. Wedding, family, or newborn photography is where most people start. After all, only famous photographers can make a living off of something like nature photography, right?
But not everybody is excited about photographing weddings or families. Nor do they have the energy to do it long-term. Plus, the endless search for new clients and worry over if you’ll schedule enough bookings this year is exhausting.
I’ve met many photographers who feel undervalued or frustrated. Many of them were giving up all their nights and weekends for weddings or family sessions. Unfortunately, their own family time had disappeared.
And while I saw their frustration, I had found success in my brand photography business. I was charging exactly what I wanted to charge for my services and people paid it without even flinching.
I hated seeing that, so I wanted to share what I had learned about building a successful business with them.
That’s what the Brand Photographer’s blueprint is all about. I wanted to share the techniques that made me successful so other photographers can be successful too — whatever success looks like for them!
It All Started With a Dream to Help Others
The first step in my journey to help other photographers was my licensing program. This allows other photographers to become a part of my business and earn money doing what they love.
As part of the license, photographers get rights to my brand as well as business, marketing, and admin materials to help them run their business.
If you’re familiar with Storybrand by Donald Miller, it’s the same idea. However, I give photographers more than just training.
After my first licensed photographer came on board, I realized something. This program might not be right for everyone. It was a great way to help some photographers get started, but not everyone.
There are still tons of photographers out there looking for a way to build their own brand. The trouble is, they don’t know how to do it. They’re struggling and frustrated and so close to throwing in the towel.
But all they need is a roadmap to teach them how to run a successful photography business.
So I decided to create a course with the hope that I could help even more photographers. I don’t want to see them give up on their dreams. I want to see them succeed and make a living doing what they love.
I Decided to Give Them a Roadmap to Succeed
Thus, the Brand Photographer’s Blueprint course was born. The course is a blueprint that outlines every part of a brand or commercial photography business.
I go into detail about everything you need to know and there are over 50 lessons in the course. However, I designed it to be digestible all at the same time. What good is a blueprint if it’s so overwhelming and confusing that you can’t follow it?
Plus, I don’t just toss out the course and wish you good luck. I’m there with you as you go through the course. I work with each photographer throughout the course to help them with any confusing spots. I want to make sure everyone knows how to implement the concepts into their own business
What Is the Brand Photographers Blueprint Course?
My Brand Photographer’s Blueprint course teaches photographers what they need to know to quickly build a full book of business. To be clear, this is a business course, not a course to learn brand photography.
There are 3 phases to this complete business course. Let’s go over each of them below.
1. Profit
How do you make a profit taking pictures? My answer is to book recurring clients. It takes a lot less marketing work to fill your book with clients who come back to you month after month than clients who only get married once.
In my opinion, the Recurring Clients Method is the best photography business model for profitability.
2. People
This section of the course goes into detail about how to identify who your ideal client is and how to find them.
Of course, finding them is only half the battle. So the course also teaches how to sell to them, create their messaging, and create an exceptional client experience. This includes client communications, the photo shoot itself, everything that happens after the shoot, etc.
3. Process
The final section of the course covers a step-by-step process for every area of a photography business. This includes admin work, sales, marketing, workflow, and so much more.
Is the Course Right For You?
Are you struggling as a photographer? Do you still love photography but are feeling the burnout of working too much for too little money?
Do you struggle with finding new clients and feel stressed about making enough money each month? Are you tired of dealing with grumpy teens and crying babies?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, maybe it’s time for something different. Maybe it’s time to step into a new type of photography and deal with a new type of client.
And it’s definitely time to build a book of recurring clients. Once you’ve done that, you don’t have to worry about booking enough business for next month or the month after. You’ll have the same core set of clients next month that you have this month and can expect roughly the same amount of money.
