When I decided to make the leap from my corporate finance career to full time photographer, I thought it was going to be easy. I had no idea how much it would take to figure out the ins and out of a photography business. I quickly learned I did not like working nights and weekends - or pretty much any time my family clients were available. I was on their terms, not mine. That's when I discovered commercial photography. This was back in 2013 and the rise of companies and brands needing consistent, great looking content was drastically on the rise. So I put my business knowledge to work and decided to start helping companies tell their story in a real and authentic way. As soon as I started, I knew I wanted to help other photographers as soon as I figured out a business model that works.
Fast forward a few years later, it was May and ALL $15,000+ of my booked clients had to reschedule for one reason or the other. I told myself it was okay, because it wasn't like I was losing the money, it was just delayed ... but I couldn't kid myself for long. It stung. That's when the Recurring Client's Method was born. This proven method sets photographers and their clients up for success and is one of my favorite parts of the Brand Photographers Blueprint.
